How to Perform

Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a PVC pipe with a very wide, overhand grip in front of your hips.

  1. Keep your elbows locked and arms straight throughout the movement.
  2. Raise the PVC pipe overhead in a smooth arc.
  3. Continue rotating your shoulders to bring the pipe behind your back as far as comfortable.
  4. Reverse the motion to bring the pipe back to the starting position in front of your hips.

Inhale as you raise the pipe overhead, and exhale as you lower it behind your back.

Move through the full range of shoulder flexion and extension allowed by your mobility without bending elbows.

Safety

  • Widen your grip if you cannot clear your head with straight arms.
  • Stop if you feel sharp pain in the shoulder joint.
